The Noya Fields Family group of charitable funds has renewed its commitment to Our Children’s Trust with its first grant of 2018. The grant is made for general purposes in support of Our Children’s Trust’s global climate recovery campaign.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation awarded $1.3 billion to nonprofit organizations in 2017. Locally, $436 million (34 percent) of the $1.3 billion supported nonprofit organizations in the nine counties that make up the San Francisco Bay Area, bringing the total amount granted to nonprofits in California to $515 million.

Southside Café’s George Mazzaferro Memorial Fund, a fund of The Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation,  awarded the Northwestern Connecticut YMCA and YMCA Camp Mohawk $1,560 in support of camperships for local children. Contributions to the Fund were raised through an annual Poker Run fundraiser, held in honor of Fund namesake, George Mazzaferro.

The Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation donated $20 million to food banks around the world as part of their Fill Your Tank program,  a company-wide initiative to celebrate Enterprise’s 60th anniversary by providing a total of $60 million to address food insecurity.

NewsMatch 2017 raised more than $4.8 million from individual donors and a coalition of foundations to support more than 100 local and investigative nonprofit news organizations. 

OneCause (formally BidPal) helped customers raise $300 million for their causes in 2017, 31 percent more than they did the previous year.

The ESA Foundation will honor Laila Shabir at the 20th anniversary of Nite to Unite on March 20 in San Francisco. The LearnDistrict founder and CEO will receive the annual charity gala’s Visionary Award for her company’s female-focused Girls Make Games summer camps, workshops, and games.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation is launching its latest outdoor advertising campaign with new billboards warning that “Syphilis is Serious” going up around Los Angeles starting the week of February 12th.

Forward Promise has launched the Forward Promise Network – an online learning and networking community focused on trauma and healing for boys and young men of color.

The largest competition for seniors in North America is launching at the Ann Arbour Area Community Foundation (AAACF). Vital Seniors: A Community Innovation Competition, a $2.5M initiative sponsored by the Glacier Hills Legacy Fund at AAACF, will support innovative projects designed to serve and protect our most vulnerable seniors and their caregivers 

Cummings Foundation trustee emeritus Larry Bacow has been appointed the next president of Harvard University. Larry served on the Foundation’s board for nearly a decade, coinciding with most of his 10-year term as president of Tufts University.

Marilu Henner will be Keynote Speaker for the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation, Inc.‘s 35th annual Women in Leadership Award event. The signature luncheon, recognizing Palm Beach County’s female trailblazers, will be held Wednesday, April 18th at 11:30 a.m. at the Kravis Center.

The Orton Family Foundation named David Weaver as director of marketing and communications. Weaver’s background includes extensive experience directing marketing strategy for some of the most respected and innovative companies in the world in the tech, automotive, sports and travel and tourism sectors.

The Center for Nonprofit Management will hold a Women’s Leadership Summit on February 27th at 9:30 a.m. at their Los Angeles headquarters.

Registration is now open for the 2018 Public Media Development and Marketing Conference in Chicago, July 10th-13th.

On March 16, professional soccer forward and children’s soccer coach Cheyra Bell will shave off 15 years and 30 inches of deadlocks for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. With an ambitious goal to raise $100,000 by the St. Baldrick’s Docksider’s event, Cheyra is confident she can reach her goal in the next four weeks.

Artist Trust invites the community to attend the 2018 Annual Benefit Art Auction on Saturday, February 24 at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion.

The National Cannabis Industry Association has named Boston, Massachusetts as the new location for next year’s Seed to Sale Show, hosted at Hynes Convention Center from February 12th & 13th, 2019.

The Arion Group will sponsor the Second Annual Equine Salute Invitational at Santa Rita Polo Farm in Wellington, Florida on Friday, February 23rd. The second annual polo match will raise money for the Gracida Legacy Foundation.
