The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation established a scholarship fund at The Winston-Salem Foundation in the amount of $100,000 to honor the life and legacy of Darryl Eugene Hunt.

The 11th Annual Lupus Mardi Gras Gala raised more than $78,000 for the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter.

Delta Dental of North Carolina donated $2000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County as part of a Cavity-Free Zone educational session on March 13th. 

The Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Foundation awarded grants totaling over $1 million to 22 nonprofits in Buncombe, Catawba, Gaston, Mecklenburg and Union counties. Of the 22 grants, 11 were in the area of social services; 7 went to health care; the remaining 4 were education-related.

United Way of Henderson County graduated 20 participants in its sixth annual Rising Leaders Program to start making a difference as volunteers with Henderson County nonprofit organizations.

Clean Air Carolina will support “Particle Falls” a free public art exhibit to illustrate pollution in real time later this month in downtown Raleigh. 

Fayetteville Technical Community College graduated nine soldiers from the Caliber Collision’s Changing Lanes Program on March 17th with new collision repair careers.

Triangle ArtWorks partnered with Women’s Theatre Festival and Town of Cary Culinary Arts to hold a professional development workshop in Cary on March 20th.

The American Heart Association and Forsyth County Life is Why Sponsor Novant Health hosted the first-ever Springing Back: A Heart Disease & Stroke Survivor Celebration on March 16th in Winston-Salem.

Durham Arts Council held their third DAC Friday on March 17th with exhibits opening in Allenton and Semans Gallery. 

UNC-TV hosted Read-a-roo’s Block Party LIVE in Charlotte on March 18th. The event featured performances from Kidznotes, the Charlotte Symphony’s Winterfield Youth Orchestra and MusicalMinds.

The Collider marked their 1-year anniversary and launch of their Friends of the Collider program with a fundraiser and party on March 18th in Asheville. The event also celebrated the 80th birthday of their founding philanthropist, Mack Pearsall.

Guliford Green Foundation’s Gala & Green Party will be held on March 25th at the Cadillac Service Garage in Greensboro. 
 
The Shore Grief Center is holding its 4th Annual Comfort Food Cook Off on March 24th, benefiting the organization. 

 
A Community Egg Hunt presented by Southern Village will take place on April 8th, 10am-1 pm at Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill. 
 
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will host a Town Hall with WRAL chief meteorologist Greg Fishel entitled “Smart Growth: Making Our Cities Sustainable” on March 30th. 
 
Triangle Community Foundation will award up to $40,000 to local nonprofits through its GSK IMPACT Awards to organizations making the Triangle region a healthy place to live, learn, work and thrive. 
 
YNPN Triangle is holding a free “Network Like a Champ” Event on Friday, March 24th in Durham.
 
GlaxoSmithKline and Triangle Community Foundation for the 2017 GSK Awards are calling for applications until May 5th for organizations registered by April 7th.
 
The National Parkinson Foundation, a division of the Parkinson’s Foundation, is requesting applications for community grants of up to $25,000 that will be awarded in North Carolina for health, wellness and education programs for people living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers. Applications are due March 30th.
 
The 2017 Create Good Conference will be held in Durham from April 17th-18th. 
 
United Way of Henderson County invites community members to eat at Moose Café anytime during the day on Tuesday, March 21st for “Dine Out: United Way & Moose Café,” 100% of the proceeds will benefit the organization. 
 
Advance Community Health is holding Wellness Saturdays events on March 18th, April 22nd and May 20th. Attendance and activities are free of charge.  
 
The Association for Women in Mathematics Student Chapter at NC State is accepting registration for 7th and 8th grade girls until April 3rd for its 6th Annual Sonia Kovalevsky Day which involved mathematics workshops and games on April 8th. 
 
Johnson Service Corps invites young adults age 21-35 to participate in Call & Money. This 6-week course will be held in Durham and Chapel Hill from April 4th to May 9th.
