United Palace of Cultural Arts received a $100,000 donation from Lin-Manual Miranda for a new projection system which will debut on October 16th. 

Sam’s Club awarded $25,000 to Garrett Takach who plans to donate a large sum of his winnings to a local autism society to build an obstacle-style infrastructure for autistic children.  

On October 3rd, Newman’s Own joined co-sponsors Fisher House Foundation and Military Times to donate $200,000 at the Pentagon Hall of Heroes to honor five non-profit organizations for innovative programs created to improve military quality of life.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, received a $2.8 million research grant from the National Institutes of Health to study blood clots in young patients.

The Brown Rudnick Charitable Foundation Corp. awarded a community grant to Inwood Academy for Leadership in New York to support an academic reconstruction project where students will gain hands-on experience with the restoration of a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle.

ExpandED Schools received a $1 million, three-year grant from the New York Life Foundation to help strengthen social-emotional learning in middle school students attending high-poverty schools.

Utah philanthropist Kem Gardner will donate $20 million to the Intermountain Healthcare Foundation to support the construction of the Intermountain Transformation Center.

The Interfaith Refugee Project hosted the Interfaith Refugee Project NYC Fundraiser on October 6th in New York to discuss the plight of refugees. 

K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers partnered with State Representative Edward “Ted” James and the Urban League of Louisiana to help individuals and families who have been affected by the flooding in Lousiana.

Services for the Underserved held its 6th Annual Harvest Luncheon on September 23rd, in the Bronx The highlight of the event was a mouthwatering menu of seasonal dishes made using delicious organic produce from its seven community farms located throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. 

Artivate hosted its annual gala celebration “Go Artivate!” on October 5th at the Silver Spring Civic Building in Maryland.

America’s Promise Alliance elected Malcolm Davis and Julie Pham to its Board of Directors and Sanah Jivani as an Alliance Trustee. 

Red Frog Events will donate 1 percent of annual profits to its charity partner, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in order to demonstrate its commitment to supporting St. Jude patients and families.

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation will accept grant applications through the foundation’s website on an ongoing basis; funding areas will include youth, working class families, caregiving, and healthy communities.

On October 19th, The Women’s Sports Foundation will celebrate women’s sports at its 37th Annual Salute to Women in Sports awards gala in New York City.

The San Diego Foundation will celebrate $1 billion of grantmaking to nonprofits with a reception and program on November 1st, in San Diego, California.

American Academy in Rome will host its 2016 Fall Gala on November 10th, in New York City; the event will honor Laurie Anderson and celebrate Rome Prize Fellows.

The second annual Oakland Summit on Blacks in Tech will be held on October 15th, in Oakland, California; the event will be sponsored by Kapor Center for Social Impact, African American Employee Network Bay Area, the REGISTRY bay area, and ReadySet.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s annual “Be Beautiful Be Yourself” Fashion Show will be held on November 12th, in Denver, Colorado.

Partners In Health will accept donations for emergency health care of those devastated in the after-math of Hurricane Mathew.

Mercy Corps will accept donations to its Humanitarian Response Fund to help Haitian families survive the disaster and re-build their communities.

Pizza Hut’s BOOK IT! Page Turner Grant Program will give away 32 grants totaling $50,000 to applicants who are making a positive impact in their community by enabling access, empowering teachers and inspiring readers. Applications will be accepted until November 30th.
