The United Arts Council Artists in Schools Grant applications for the 2017-18 school year were open through September 6th this year.
The Howard R. Levine Foundation, a donor advised fund held at Foundation For The Carolinas, will give $500,000 over five years to Communities In Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg to launch the agency’s Crisis Care Initiative.
The Winston-Salem Foundation donated $467,632 in Community Grants to 22 local nonprofit organizations in July.
Junior Achievement of the Triad received a $10,000 grant from Duke Energy to support the “Mission Possible – STEM Skills for the 21st Century” initiative, providing 5th graders with the JA Our Nation curriculum.
CoreNet Global Carolinas wrapped up summer with a community service day at the Crayons2Calculators warehouse along with a check presentation of $1,250 to C2C.
The Housing Opportunity Foundation awarded grants to 17 area local nonprofits and seven area Habitat for Humanity agencies totaling $76,607.66 through the annual Realtor-directed Habitat Support and Community Grants Programs.
Applications were open through September 22nd for the United Arts Council‘s Wheels on the Bus grants. These grants provide funds to move one grade level per school per year at Wake County elementary schools for field trips to area arts and cultural destinations.
North Carolina first lady Kristin Cooper visited North Duplin Junior Senior High School in Mt. Olive on September 18th to announce grant awards from United Health Foundation and Whole Kids Foundation totaling $44,000 to schools and YMCAs statewide.
Applications were open through September 22nd for the Longleaf Collective‘s Engaging Communities in the Arts in Unexpected Ways grant that targets projects that engage underserved communities or bring art to nontraditional spaces. The Collective aims to raise between $10,000 and $20,000 for this year’s grant.
United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County has made $111,223 available to 122 Wake County schools to bring in teaching artists during the 2017/18 school year for performances, workshops, and residencies that integrate the arts with core subjects.
GreenHill received $5,000 from PNC to continue to expand the reach of free Family Night. Family Night is a program offered each Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. where families are able to participate in all of the activities provided during GreenHill’s open studio hours free of charge.
The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation is providing $100,000 to organizations across the state in response to the end of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation awards up to five sabbaticals every other year and is currently accepting applications for its 2018 Sabbatical Program. The deadline to apply is November 2nd.
The North Carolina Network of Grantmakers will hold the 2017 NCNG Foundation Fair October 18th on Warren Wilson College’s campus in Swannanoa.
Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate will accept applications for its 2018-2019 Community Health Grants Program through November 18th. Applicants may request funding from $10,000 up to $50,000 for one year.
This year the Triangle Community Foundation launched a new grant-making process. The Durham Cerebral Palsy Foundation Fund will be accepting applications from nonprofits through October 1st, and these block grants are anticipated to be in the amount of $10,000-$15,000.
