The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) disaster relief teams on the ground in Texas and Florida are providing food and water, direct financial assistance, vaccinations, and behavioral health support through the IAFF Disaster Relief Fund for fire fighters responding to Hurricanes Irma and Harvey.

This month the United Nations Foundation celebrates its 20th Anniversary. Founded by Ted Turner on September 18th, 1997, the Foundation has leveraged Mr. Turner’s initial $1 billion donation to support the work of the United Nations, including efforts to eradicate malaria and polio, to support the rights and well-being of adolescent girls, and to provide energy access to remote corners of the world.
On September 19th, GreaterGood.org will celebrate its 10-year anniversary, and in celebration of this event, the organization encourages people to give $10 to a program they are passionate about to show that small acts can have great impact.

On September 16th, Grimmway Schools celebrated the culmination of a goal set years ago with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony presenting Grimmway Academy Shafter. The new campus in Shafter was funded partly through an investment from NewSchools Venture Fund and is modeled after Grimmway Academy Arvin.
The Green Beret Foundation hosted their 3rd Annual Cincinnati Classic Reception, Silent & Live Auction and Dinner on Sunday, September 17. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Green Beret Foundation’s mission to support the United States Special Forces.

Schools can register now for Keep America Beautiful‘s national in-school recycling competition for K-12 schools, Recycle-Bowl, which begins on October 16th.

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation and the SAG-AFTRA Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund have created a Hurricane Relief Fund specifically to provide financial support to SAG-AFTRA members affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The organizations seeded the Hurricane Relief Fund with $400,000 and are accepting additional contributions and donations.
Bowlmor AMF is raising funds at more than 300 centers nationwide with proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross‘ disaster relief services. The organization will match donations up to $50,000.

On September 16th, nine-year-old Khloe Thompson, founder of Khloe Kares, crossed the 1,000th Kare Bag milestone totaling over 2,000 months worth of hygienic care to the homeless community.
