Manhattan Institute distributes Civil Society Awards, Obama Foundation names first president, Foundation for Global Sports Development launches Courage First initiative, and more.

 The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation awarded a $2,000 grant to Atlantic Home Care and Hospice’s Camp Clover in Morristown, New Jersey. 

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, has just committed $200,000 over two years to support RespectAbility train adults with disabilities at semester-long, career-training fellowships.

The Manhattan Institute named the four nonprofits to receive their $25,000 Civil Society Awards: ESL In-Home Program of Nevada, Better Together, Trade Institute of Pittsburgh, and the Newburgh Performing Arts Academy.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe raised more than $1.14 million for Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine.

Partners International named Russ Barratt as chief executive officer. Barratt previously served as vice president of technology for the Council on Foundations, Inc.

Zelermyer oversaw the production of the 2017 and 2018 New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards.

New York Women in Film & Television named their new board of directors president, Jamie Zelermyer. Zelermyer had served on the board for four years, most recently as vice president of special events.

The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum appointed Kate Wiener as the Museum’s Assistant Curator.

The Chrysler Museum of Art hired Allison M. Taylor as the new director of education as well as Heather Sherwin as the new director of development.

The David Winton Bell Gallery at Brown University appointed Kate Kraczon as curator.

National Braille Press appointed five new trustees: Mary-Frances Barry, Erin Connors, Cheri Hutcherson, Jill Noble and Paul McLaughlin.

Former deputy national security advisor for international economics and deputy director of the national economic council Adewale “Wally” Adeyemo will join The Obama Foundation as the foundation’s first president.

Good360 named Matt Connelly as chief executive officer. Previously Connelly served on the Good360 board for eight years and had been co-chairman for the past four.

Financing Solution launched a new series of podcasts called Nonprofit MBA.
