JPMorgan Chase & Co. donated $175,000 to support Baltimore YouthWorks summer youth employment. With the grant, 8,000 Baltimore young people between the ages of 14-21 seeking summer jobs will work this summer.

Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation awarded 50 college scholarships for the 2016/2017 academic year to residents of properties owned and managed by Balfour Beatty Communities, LLC. Scholarship recipients were selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership qualities and a drive toward bettering their community.

The Rite Aid Foundation donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross West Virginia Region to help the victims, families and communities affected by recent flooding.

6.27.16 AmeriCares_revisedAmeriCares is sending medicine, first aid supplies and safe drinking water for families affected by the flooding in West Virginia.

UnitedHealthcare and Optum, are taking action to help those in West Virginia and Virginia affected by the recent flooding. This includes assisting health plan participants or access to early prescription refills, and a free emotional-support line to help people in affected communities.

The Walmart Foundation will provide support through cash and in-kind donations of $250,000 to organizations helping with relief efforts for those affected by the floods in West Virginia.

EQT made a $50,000 donation to the West Virginia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. Mountain Valley Pipeline is making an additional $25,000 contribution.

Blackbaud made a $1 million donation to the International African American Museum to be built on Charleston, SC’s Gadsden’s Wharf. Virtual or in-person visitors to the museum will be able to trace their family origins, research their ancestry and record their own stories.

The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology was selected as one of Cummings Foundation‘s $100k for 100 program, supporting nonprofits in Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk counties in Massachusetts.

New York Life donated $100,000 to provide assistance to those affected by the Orlando shooting. $50,000 was donated to the OneOrlando Fund and $50,000 was donated to the LGBT center of Orlando, both organizations are providing support and services to first responders, victims and the Orlando community.

PPG Foundation is sponsoring more than $290,000 in undergraduate college scholarships for U.S. students through National Merit Scholarship Corp. in 2016, including 43 new four-year scholarships.

Wells Fargo and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation donated $2.6 million to 61 organizations to support land and water conservation, energy efficiency and broad-based citizen participation in communities where Wells Fargo customers and team members live and work.

EnCorps STEM Teachers Program received funding from the Qualcomm Foundation over four academic and fiscal years.

6.27.16 ALS.net_revisedALS.net celebrated celebrity art auction Art for ALS  in conjunction with organization Artists Lend Support. More than 55 artists and celebrities donated works for this silent auction that raised over $100,000 for ALS.net and the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

Matthew 25: Ministries sent 12,000 pounds of basic relief supplies such as personal care kits, cleaning supplies and paper products, as well as more than 90,000 bottles of water to support the severe flooding in West Virginia.

UnitedHealthcare awarded $25,000 grants to three Nebraska Federally Qualified Health Centers to support efforts that improve coordination of physical and behavioral health care services.

The U.S. Conference of Mayors and Wells Fargo awarded their 2016 CommunityWINS grants totaling $600,000. The grant recipients Mayors Charlie Hales of Portland, Ore.; Setti Warren of Newton, Mass.; and Steve Williams of Huntington, W. Va. were recognized with top honors on behalf of nonprofits in their cities.

VEDC loaned $2.26 million to 24 African American-owned small businesses in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York through a new National African American Small Business Loan Fund.

The Amaranth Diabetes Foundation has reached $15 million in total contributions since 1979 to the American Diabetes Association Research Foundation.

Wendy’s launched the #Share4Adoption campaign in which they will donate up to $500,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

The MAXIMUS Foundation distributed approximately $460,000 in grants to 147 nonprofit organizations in 25 states as part of its Spring 2016 grant cycle.

Southeastern Grocers donated all profits generated at its grocery stores on Monday, July 4, in support of veterans and service members. This year Southeastern Grocers has partnered with Hope For The Warriors.

Bob Evans Farms is donating $200,000 in addition to thousands of meals to support the Gary Sinise Foudation‘s Serving Heroes program.

Sonic Drive-In kicked-off the inaugural #ThanksTeach campaign in partnership with Julianne Hough during Teacher Appreciation Month to fund up to $1 million in essential learning and innovative teaching resources requested by teachers.

Buffalo Wild Wings donated more than $730,000 as part of its annual Community Day fundraiser that supports local Boys & Girls Clubs through the Team Up for Kids.

Henry Schein joined Northwell Health to dedicate the Henry Schein Oral Health Navigator Program, an initiative designed to help young patients avoid oral health-related complications during cancer treatment. The program is based at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York.

The Standard Charitable Foundation issued four grants totaling $85,000 to nonprofits in Portland, Oregon. The recipients are: Open School East, Tucker Maxon School, Minds Matter and QUAD, Inc.

NRG Energy named the winners of its sixth-annual Howard E. Cosgrove Academic Scholarship. Since its inception in 2011, twenty five students have been awarded more than $1 million in scholarships.

The Henry and Marilyn Taub Foundation gifted $1 million to support the Shirley Sadoff Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Research Acceleration Network 2 Grant. The grant will support a large, multi-center phase II clinical trial testing an immunotherapeutic approach in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

In response to the flooding crisis in West Virginia, UniCare Health Plan has launched several support efforts to help its members and residents across the state who have been impacted by recent events.

The El Camino Hospital Community Benefit Grant Program will invest $3.3 million in organizations committed to improving the health of the community’s most vulnerable populations in fiscal year 2017.

Google and Black Girls CODE will partner by sharing a office building in New York City. The partnership will allow Google to interact on a daily basis with young women of color who are interested in the tech field.

Medical Teams International sent five dental health professionals to Greece to provide urgent dental care to refugees fleeing the violence in Syria.

Cambia Health Solutions will partner again with Medical Teams International for a second consecutive year. In addition providing funding, Cambia will collaborate to make mutual, ongoing investments of employees’ time and talent to change and improve health care and communities.

On June 27th The Foundation for AIDS research recognized National HIV Testing Day.

GreenDrop has added the American Red Cross to its roster of partner charities.

6.28.16 Special Olympics RevisedSpecial Olympics and WWE have created an international partnership to help create change through sports. The WWE will support Special Olympics’ Play Unified campaign, which fosters friendships, understanding, and inclusive communities among people with and without intellectual disabilities.

Elizabeth Ripp from Developmental Disabilities Institute received the Direct Support Professional of the Year award from the Self-Advocacy Association of New York State.

Girls Health Ed held it’s annual fundraising event on June 30th at the United Nations Foundation in Washington, DC. Girls Health Ed educated girls throughout the US and Kenya about their overall health.

6.27.16 American Red Cross_revisedAmerican Red Cross is responded to devastating flooding in West Virginia that has rendered hundreds homeless. Crews from the Eastern North Carolina Region of the Red Cross traveled to West Virginia over the weekend and are helping those affected by the storm.

The Challenged Athletes Foundation named Ken Wheatly as its new CEO. Wheatley previously served as Senior Vice President with Sony Electronics.

John Kohler, executive fellow and director of Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship, spoke at the Second Vatican Conference on Impact Investing on June 28th.

7.1.2016 Indianapolis Colts_revisedThe Indianapolis Colts‘ hosted 18 Indiana high-school football programs at an exclusive event focused on student-athlete health and safety. The event was the culmination of the HELMETs sweepstakes, a collaboration between the Indianapolis Colts and UnitedHealthcare to enhance health and safety of young athletes through proper equipment, education and training.

National Park Foundation  will work with local and national organizations and the community to raise the approximately $2 million needed to launch the Stonewall National Monument designated by President Obama. This fundraising effort will be part of the Foundation’s $350 million Centennial Campaign for America’s National Parks and the support will provide critical funds for dedicated National Park Service rangers, a temporary ranger station and visitor center, research and materials, exhibits, LGBTQ community outreach, public education, and scholar engagement.

A community of Etsy sellers began giving back through product sales with the new GoCause app. Participating sellers chose a mission or organization to support with a portion of their sales.
