Rothko Chapel received a $2,000,000 grant from Houston Endowment to fund comprehensive chapel restoration and campus expansion.
Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute selected the 2019–2020 grant recipients for PlayUSA, a program that supports instrumental music education projects across the country. Carnegie Hall selected 17 organizations, including 5 new partners—Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, Empire State Youth Orchestra, Hawaii Youth Symphony, Juneau Alaska Music Matters, and Trenton Music Makers—for a total of $500,000 in grants.
The Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles awarded three grants of $200,000 each to organizations combating local homelessness: Brilliant Corners, LA Family Housing, and The People Concern.

Ploughshares Fund awarded six grants to organizations building more just and inclusive policies related to current nuclear weapons issues. Awarded organizations include Beyond the Bomb, Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy, Federation of American Scientists, Lilly Adams, Peace Action Fund of New York State, and Women’s Action for New Directions Education Fund.

Community Catalyst’s board of directors selected Emily J. Stewart to serve as the organization’s new Executive Director.
