A $59,400 grant from the SECU Foundation provided funding for the North Carolina Symphony to acquire a custom-designed van equipped to transport up to five Symphony musicians, their instruments, and staff members to areas in the state with limited access to concerts and education programs. The vehicle is personalized with a unique van wrap to highlight the North Carolina Symphony and SECU Foundation partnership.
Duke Energy is investing $1 million over five years to support expansion of pre-kindergarten education for children in Mecklenburg County, N.C. The Duke Energy Foundation grant will support the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners’ MECK Pre-K initiative to ensure all children under age 5 in Mecklenburg County have access to high-quality early childhood education.
Community Foundation of Henderson made $228,890 in grant awards through the Perry N. Rudnick Endowment, our Community Grant process, and an emergency ask. During its most recent grant cycle, the Rudnick Advisory Committee awarded $97,890 to help further the missions of five organizations. Additionally, the Community Fund made awards totaling $126,000 in support of seven area nonprofits and their missions. Lastly, the Community Foundation of Henderson County approved a $5,000 request for funding from Safelight.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the High Point Rockers teamed up with Mental Health Associates of the Triad (MHA) to raise awareness on signs and symptoms of mental illness, as well as funds for MHA, at their game on May 17th.
The Ada Jenkins Center received Apparo’s 2019 Mission Possible: The Economic Opportunity Award, sponsored by Accenture, on May 11th at the 13th Annual ConnectivIT® Ball. Apparo’s ConnectivIT® Series culminated at the Ball, where the organization reached a series fundraising total of more than $1 million.

The day convenes diverse stakeholders to identify and resolve consumer-level and systemic barriers to good oral health and to accelerate implementation of policies and practices that reduce oral health disparities and promote improved oral health for all North Carolinians.

CEP Compression will partner with wear blue: run to remember to encourage everyone to run in remembrance this Memorial Day. wear blue will be hosting community gatherings across the country on the morning of Monday, May 27th to honor fallen military members and their families. In support of wear blue, CEP is developing a signature wear blue compression sock, with proceeds going to support the organization’s mission.
