Vaccine Ambassadors received a $1,000 grant from UNC Alpha Phi Omega. A check was presented to Vaccine Ambassadors at Alpha Phi Omega’s Charity Night on March 28th in Chapel Hill.
Duke University received $15 million from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation to establish a new undergraduate program focused on leadership, service, and business and entrepreneurship at the Pratt School of Engineering.

1,453 people attended the Durham Rescue Mission’s Annual Easter Community Dinner. 359 volunteers at the Mission distributed 1,137 Easter baskets, 689 free bags of groceries, 6,200 articles of clothing, and served 950 meals.
Charlotte resident Kristen Schottenheimer recently joined a group of Alzheimer’s advocates to turn North Carolina purple for Alzheimer’s. Hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter and Alzheimer’s Association – Eastern North Carolina Chapter, the NC State Advocacy Day 2018 took place at the state capitol in Raleigh on March 22nd and included meetings with state legislators and an advocacy session.
Lisa Dale was promoted to Regional Director of 24 Foundation‘s Carolina’s division. A member of the 24 Foundation fundraising and recruitment team since 2016, Dale has more than 30 years of sales and promotional experience.

Coastal Credit Union Foundation is now accepting grant applications for their 3rd annual Power of Sharing event. This year’s goal is to fund organizations that have projects or programs that will specifically help the financially vulnerable or contribute to education. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, April 16th.
The City of Raleigh Arts Commission is accepting nominations for the 2018 Medal of Arts awards. The deadline for nominations is Thurs, April 19th.
The Peacehaven Farm Walk will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 22 in Whitsett.

The Institute for Emerging Issues at NC State University today announced the selection of Catawba, Chowan, Randolph and Rockingham Counties for participation in KidsReadyNC, a new, 18-month initiative designed to help selected Tier 1 or Tier 2 communities strengthen leadership capacity within their local early childhood development systems.
