The Board of Directors of City Harvest provided $250,000 in matching funds that will double the impact of any donations made through March 20.

California State University, Fullerton’s Mihaylo College of Business and Economics received its first grant, a $50,000 gift from Mercury Insurance for the Women’s Leadership Program, which provides curriculum and training specifically focused on preparing female students for advancement into top leadership positions after graduation.

The TD Charitable Foundation awarded more than $5.9M in grants to eighteen non-profit organizations supporting affordable housing, financial literacy/health, neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and human service needs in communities from Maine to Florida.

Endangered Species Chocolate recently empowered conservation organizations with its annual GiveBack promise, contributing 10% of its 2017 net profits to wildlife initiatives. Contributions helped launch new species protection programs and saved 1.3 million acres of endangered species’ habitats. 

Atlantis Charter School received a $50,000 donation from the Wellington Management Foundation to support its career academy program. The five academies give students early exposure to today’s in-demand jobs and provide them with skills and experiences necessary for success in college and 21st century careers.

The Eisner Foundation awarded $850,000 through three grants: Turnaround Arts: California was awarded $150,000 over two years in general operating support; The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor was awarded $200,000 over two years in program support to strengthen their intergenerational volunteer program, as well as $500,000 over two years in capital support toward comprehensive facility improvements and a strategic sustainability campaign.

Pilot Flying J raised a total of $981,000 in support of the American Heart Association‘s Life Is Why We Give campaign.

The Young People’s Chorus of New York City hosted their 30th Anniversary Celebration March 5 At Jazz At Lincoln Center. The concert was followed by a celebratory dinner in the Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental, where YPC honored Michael Fraccaro, Saori Kawano, and Hiroko Onoyama, whose generosity strengthens YPC’s efforts on behalf of New York City’s children.

Dr. Mehmet Oz will join Team Lighthouse Guild as they ride through the five boroughs of New York City in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour on Sunday, May 6.

Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation was selected by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) to be honored with the 2018 Catalyst Award at the AAPD Leadership Awards Gala in Washington, DC on March 13th. The award recognizes the foundation’s efforts to empower youth with disabilities to lead productive lives.

The Gordon Parks Foundation selected photographer Deana Lawson of Rochester, NY and multidisciplinary artist Derrick Adams of Baltimore, MD  as the 2018 Gordon Parks Foundation Fellows. Now in its second year, The Gordon Parks Foundation Fellowship Program supports artists working across a range of artistic disciplines by providing short-term grants of $10,000, and an exhibition at the Foundation’s exhibition space in Pleasantville, New York.

Students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Dayton in Ohio are working with the San Francisco-based nonprofit RE-volv to bring the power and benefits of solar energy to two nonprofits in their respective communities: Mission of Mary Cooperative in Dayton, and Project Home in Madison.

Long-time Alaska leader Mike Navarre joined the Board of Directors of The Rasmuson Foundation.

Beginning March 8th, International Women’s Day, 100 percent of profits from sales of the Dragon Fruit Chia Bar, made by Health Warrior, will be donated to Girls Inc.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation appointed John Crosson as the Chair of its national Board of Trustees, and elected five new Board trustees: Jason Burr, Joseph Monk, Cynthia Roth, Frank Russomano, and Jodi Yellen.

Omega Institute for Holistic Studies has launched a 5-year Strategic Plan which outlines goals and strategies for building organizational strength and maximizing impact. From developing online curriculum to building strategic partnerships to leveraging Omega’s assets and voice for advocacy, the organization is poised to increase access to programs and mobilize constituents through focused community engagement.

CLOTH, The Children’s Village, Ranger Properties and Alembic Community Partners were chosen to develop the Inwood Library Project, “The Eliza”, which will provide a modern New York Public Library that is responsive to the great diversity of the Inwood community. The building will include 175 much-needed affordable apartments.

For the seventh consecutive time, the Salk Institute earned a four- out-of-four-star rating from Charity Navigator.

SunTrust Banks, Inc., named Stan Little president of the SunTrust Foundation, effective March 16. The SunTrust Foundation advances financial well-being while contributing to the social, cultural and economic development of communities across the company’s markets

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and MIT will be collaborating to launch MIT’s 2018 Inclusive Innovation Challenge in North America. Registration is now open for the challenge, which seeks to identify and promote entrepreneurial organizations in North America that are using technology to improve economic opportunity for low and moderate income earners.

Pearl S. Buck International will hold their Woman of Influence Award Dinner, Presentation, and VIP Reception celebrating the Honorable Renée Cardwell Hughes (Ret.) on  Thursday, April 26th at 5 p.m. at The  Estate Pavilion, Pearl S. Buck International, 520 Dublin Rd., Hilltown, PA .

Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) is expanding its engagement with Turner Construction Company. Through WOS Managed Services, three individuals from underserved communities have been recruited and trained to provide Turner employees with service desk support. Their services will be provided over a 12-week period and will be outsourced from WOS’ offices in Dallas, TX.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals launched the Women’s Impact Initiative  to address issues of gender inequity in the fundraising profession and charitable sector, including sexual harassment, salary inequality, and the lack of women in senior leadership roles. 

RedRover is launching two new lifesaving programs through the RedRover Relief Domestic Violence Assistance Program: Safe Housing Startup grants and  Safe Housing Off-Site grants.

The 92Y will host Andie MacDowell on Wednesday, March 28 at 7:30 pm with a preview screening her new film, Love After Love.
