The National Philanthropic Trust in 2016 made 27,760 donor-recommended grants whose total was valued up to $593 million.

WHRO Public Media received a $3 million gift from Hampton Roads leader Jane Batten in order to launch an environmental education initiative for students from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade.

Bodega Catena Zapata donated auction lots which raised more than $80,000 to the Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend

Minimizer donated $20,000 to the Wyakin Foundation to help wounded veterans. 

Earlier this month, Google.org and Gavi partnered to help Nexleaf strengthen vaccine cold chain systems in low-income countries. Google.org’s $2 million contribution will be matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s funding to the Gavi Matching Fund.

TRI Pointe will continue to be national sponsor of HomeAid America’s non-profit Corporate Partnership program.

The CH2M Foundation is investing more than $1 million in its strategic partnerships to work for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as the building of sustainable communities.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital received more than $18.2 million from Best Buy customers and employees during the holiday season. 

Check City customers and local residents raised up to $5,525 in cash for the Utah Food Bank. Check City matched the donations and donated $11,050 to the food bank. 

The UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation made book donations at children’s hospitals, elementary schools, and community organizations across the nation to recognize National Random Acts of Kindness Day.

Citizen Schools with support from Dell is expanding its opportunities for applied science apprenticeships for middle school students across the nation.

Foundation Source named Scott Rose as Managing Director of the Central Region. 

Maternity Care Coalition honored the W.K Kellogg Foundation with the “Spirit of Motherhood” award on February 25th in Philadelphia.

Artist Trust named Valerie Curtis-Newton and Sheila Klein the 2017 Arts Innovator Award recipients. Both are announced to receive $25,000 in funds as well.

Debbie C. Thurmond was named the Ruth B. and Robert K. Lanman Chair in Gene Regulation and Drug Discovery Research at City of Hope in Duarte, California.

Fire Department Coffee will donate 10% of all proceeds from February 15th to March 15th to the Paddy Brown Program to help veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
