11-28-2016-100-woman_revised100 Women Who Give a Hoot donations for 2016 exceeded $45,000 so this year. The organization expects to distribute an additional $15,000 during their final quarterly awards event on December 7.

MiracleFeet celebrated their 20,000th donated treatment to children with untreated clubfoot. 

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina approved grants totaling $1,211,583 to nonprofits across the region to nonprofits serving economically-disadvantaged populations across the Foundation’s 18-county service area. 

The Winston-Salem Foundation made 15 Community Grants totaling $339,338. Grants were awarded to organizations in these program areas: arts and culture, community and economic development, environment, human services, public interest, and recreation.

Trustees of The Duke Endowment in Charlotte approved more than $16 million in 35 new grants to organizations in North Carolina and South Carolina.

The Hope Center at Pullen named Jennifer Weiss as the new Executive Director of the organization. Weiss, a lawyer and community volunteer, previously served in the North Carolina House of Representatives.

The Durham Rescue Mission hosted their Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner with the help of over 500 volunteers on November 24th. 

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina announced its Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Partnership Recognition Program, which honors the generous support of corporate, foundation, government/civic donors across its 34 county service area.

The John Rex Endowment announced new members and officers of the board of directors. New board members include Wake County District Court Judge Craig Croom and Matt Leatherman, policy analyst for NC Department of State Treasurer. 

East Carolina Stop Human Trafficking Now had a Fair Traders booth at the Holly Jolly Holiday show in Kinston, NC on November 18th and 19th.

Student Action with Farmworkers is seeking applications for their Into the Fields program, the application deadline is February 4th.
