Social Venture Partners Boston has selected four semi-finalists – My Life My Choice, Room to Grow, uAspire, and 826 Boston – to compete for a lucrative three-year package of financial and volunteer support from the organization. One nonprofit will be selected on Dec. 9 for three years of support that includes $100,000 in unrestricted funds.

On October 27th, the Legacy Foundation celebrated 23 years of service in Lake County, Indiana. president and CEO, Carolyn Saxton announced the Neighborhood Spotlight Grant recipients, which were Griffith and Gary-Emerson neighborhoods which will receive comprehensive technical assistance from the Indiana Association of Community Economic Development and $50,000 in the first year for the cost of a community builder and early action projects.

JCamp180, a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF), hosted more than 450 leaders from non-profit Jewish camps and other organizations during its 11th annual Conference. During the event, top individuals and camps were honored for their growth in managing their daily operations and for their collective efforts in raising $90 million through HGF’s matching challenge grant campaigns to support Jewish summer camps across the country.

Alex Nogales, President & CEO of the National Hispanic Media Coalition, joined several other Latino leaders at a public rally to deliver over half a million signatures urging NBCUniversal recant their invitation to Donald Trump to host Saturday Night Live on November 7th. The rally included members and leaders from America’s Voice, Color of Change, Hispanic Organization of Latin Artists, Justice League NYC, League of United Latin American Citizens, National Association of Latino Independent Producers, National Council of La Raza, National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts and more.

The San Diego Zoo is celebrating a century of connecting people with wildlife and inspiring a passion for nature, with its 100th birthday in 2016. To kick off its next 100 years, San Diego Zoo’s “Roaring Forward” capital campaign, has a goal to raise $400 million by the close of 2017, to help fund the Zoo and it’s conservation work as it steps into a second century of saving species.

K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers honored the president of the Commercial Services division of Wells Fargo Capital Finance Stuart M. Brister, the president and executive director of Global Brands Group Dow Famulak and leading fashion designer Prabal Gurung on behalf of Shikshya Foundation Nepal at its 2015 annual gala and raised $1.75 million.

Vodafone Americas Foundation kicked off its eighth annual Wireless Innovation Project(WIP) last week, opening the call for submissions for wireless-related solutions with the high potential to solve today’s most challenging issues – from sanitation to healthcare. Applications will be accepted until February 27, 2016, with winners announced in June 2016.

Detroit Friendship House seeks assistance to ensure families in Hamtramck have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. Those who would like to help are encouraged to donate towards the purchase of a turkey or meal for four and/or donate food towards a meal.

In an effort to bring more joy and friendship to thousands of girls and their families in need this holiday season, American Girl is launching several new charitable programs as part of its “Together We Make the Holidays” giving campaign. Those include “Get a Friend. Give a Friend”,  “For Goodness, Bake!, “TODAY’s 22nd Annual Holiday Toy Drive”, and finally fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #Joy2EveryGirl.

Catholic Charities USA‘s #End45: Raise a Hand to End Poverty in America campaign encourages individuals, through social media, to raise awareness to the more than 45 million people living in poverty in the United States.
