The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation awarded a grant of $1,100 to the Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund at the Academies@Englewood for the 14th annual Englewood Idol talent competition. The grant award provides $100 scholarships for each contestant to record one song and the entire group to collaborate and record two songs together on a professionally developed CD in a studio.
Eight organizations in three southeast Michigan counties are receiving $1.1 million in grants from the Community Foundation’s Head Start Innovation Fund. The grants will support the organizations’ recompetition for federal Head Start Funds for Detroit-based agencies and for teacher recruitment and retention in the Tri-County area.
For the 11th consecutive year, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has committed to Presenting Sponsorship support of the annual American Lung Association in Wisconsin Fight for Air Climb. Anthem’s involvement has continued to grow since the inaugural Climb in 2009 and is expected to top $500,000 in total sponsorship and team fundraising with this year’s event.

SheIS is challenging the public to help their mission to grow awareness and support of women sports by launching their “SheIS Challenge.” For every public sign-up SheIS receives on their website between now and the end of the Women’s World Cup (July 7th, 2019), SheIS will work with a series of brand partners and foundations to donate one dollar, up to $1 million, to support grassroots programs that support women and girls in sport.
The Foundation for Child Development will be hosting a webinar entitled A Closer Look: The Unique Needs and Promise of Children of Black Immigrants and Refugee Children on January 23rd from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Registration is open through January 18th.
