The board of advisors of the Montgomery County Fund announced more than $26,000 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.

This year’s Library Services and Technology Act grants totaled over $2.3 million, and include 39 awards for local library projects. Awardees were announced on June 8th.

I-77 Mobility Partners donated $50,000 to support Discovery Place Education Studio.

The Leon Levine Foundation of Charlotte committed $1 million to the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina on May 30th.

Cumberland Community Foundation awarded $679,400 in academic scholarships to students at its annual scholarship awards presentation on May 25th.

Caswell Friends of the Library received a surprise grant of $3,000 from The Community Foundation of the Dan River at a luncheon for Caswell County supporters in May.

Transitions LifeCare received a $125,000 grant from The Duke Endowment to establish a pediatric telehealth program.

The North Carolina Development Initiative received $750,000 from the Golden Leaf Foundation to help small businesses in NC counties impacted by Hurricane Matthew, western wildfires, Tropical Storm Julia, and Tropical Storm Hermine.

The Carolinas Foundation Center at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library held  Grant-Ready Program Development and Operations on Thursday, June 22nd from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

The Franklin County Community Foundation announced $1,350 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.

Trustees of The Duke Endowment in Charlotte approved $8.4 million in new grants to support organizations in North and South Carolina that are working to expand opportunities for vulnerable children.

The Leon Levine Foundation announced that it will support Communities In Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg by offering a $350,000 matching gift challenge grant over a two-year period.

The North Carolina Humanities Council is now accepting Large grant proposals for public humanities projects of extended scope that explore North Carolina’s rich diversity, traditions and cultures. Applicants may request a maximum of $25,000. This deadline for draft proposals is June 30th.

Rockingham, Pamilico, Jones and Harnett County Community Foundations are now accepting grant applications for their community grantmaking funds.
