On November 14th, World Diabetes Day, Sun Life Financial Inc. committed $1 million to the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Foundation to launch the Sun Life Financial Diabetes College.

One of Evergreen‘s longest standing partnerships and largest educational initiatives, the Toyota Evergreen Learning Grounds  program, helped 559 schools this year with their efforts to green their outdoor spaces, engaging 48,245 students and staff.

On November 19th, the Miracle Foundation partnered with the Global Citizen Festival in India to raise awareness and funds for orphans across India. The event will mirror the annual Global Citizen Festival held in New York’s Central Park, where free tickets are earned by performing various social tasks.

On Friday November 18th, Jerusalem Capital Studios International, in partnership with the UN Women for Peace Association, hosted the opening cocktail party for the International Emmy World Television Festival for the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

As of November 2016, more than 12,000 Important Bird & Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) have been identified by BirdLife – making it the largest list of globally-important biodiverse sites in the world

11-28-16-un_revisedDr. Bhaskar Chatterjee addressed the United Nations‘ 2016 Forum on Business and Human Rights on November 15th, sharing insights into India’s unique law on Corporate Social Responsibility.

Graduate Women International’s (GWI) Communications and Advocacy Officer, Amy Paunila, met with members from the Uganda Association of University Women (UAUW) and the five girls that GWI is sponsoring for the Teachers for Rural Futures program to discuss progress on the project. UAUW members mentor the five girls and implement the project community engagement component.

On November 16th, Transparency International published the results of a public opinion poll about people’s experiences and perceptions of corruption in 42 countries in Europe and Central Asia.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) celebrated its 20th anniversary, fulfilling the original purpose of its establishment: to contribute to the improvement of the lives of those less privileged and to support organizations and projects that are expected to achieve a broad, lasting and positive impact for society at large.

Mike Goodwin and Elizabeth Lie will be joining the Medical Teams International board of directors. As board members, Goodwin and Lie will share governance and oversight responsibility with other members for execution of the Medical Teams International mission as well as the underlying strategic and financial plans developed to support it. 

ADEC Innovations has been named the preferred, strategic technology and data management partner of the ZDHC Foundation.

On November 17th, Small Arms Survey hosted a discussion titled “Measuring conflict deaths in support to Agenda 2030” to discuss the strengths and challenges of developing an indicator on conflict-related deaths to monitor peaceful and inclusive societies.

Omidyar Network adopted the International Aid Transparency Initiative‘s data standard and will report data on its nonprofit portfolio on a quarterly basis.

11-28-16-stop-hunger-now_revisedStop Hunger Now’s crisis relief efforts in Haiti continue through the distribution of food to those impacted by Hurricane Matthew. The global nonprofit has partnered with Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and Airlink to send 285,120 meals by plane on November 1st. An additional eight containers will be shipped to Haiti to support the relief efforts of ADRA.

The first-ever Israeli Corporate Social Responsibility Experience Conference, organized by Maala, will take place November 30th – December 1st in Tel Aviv, will showcase the strides Israel has made in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.

In celebration of mothers2mothers‘s (m2m) 15th birthday, they will launch Change Tomorrow Today. For the event, anyone can pledge a birthday to m2m to help HIV-positive mothers and their children stay healthy.
