The United Methodist Retirement Communities foundation board of directors provided over $26,000 to Thome Rivertown Neighborhood in Detroit to provide hydration stations and security cameras for Rivertown’s affordable assisted living center.

The Bay Area Census Funders Collaborative distributed more than $3.3 million in grants to nearly 130 nonprofit community-based organizations to promote Census 2020 education and outreach efforts and minimize the chances that residents of the nine-county Bay Area region will be left out of the census count.

The Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation made a $500,000 grant for the Dumb Friends League’s capital campaign project to renovate the oldest areas of the Leslie A. Malone Center in Denver.

City National Bank seeks applicants for its Reading is The way up literacy program with $80,000 in both literacy ad financial literacy grants. Click here to access the online application.

Carnival Foundation has supported Best Buddies International — created in 1989 — since 1996.

Carnival Foundation made a $200,000 donation to Best Buddies International to support three Best Buddies fundraising programs: Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle, in Los Angeles, California; Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port, in Massachusetts; and Best Buddies Miami Gala.

Golden Corral raised more than $2 million this year to help support Camp Corral, a nonprofit corporation that provides free, one-of-a-kind summer camp experiences for children of wounded, injured, ill or fallen service members.

The American Planning Association Foundation awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarships to six college students studying to pursue a career in planning.

Loyola law professor Andrea Armstrong received a $350,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to examine the effects of incarceration on health service use in Louisiana, currently a global and national leader in incarceration rates.

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation selected The Gilmore an $891,000 grant that will support educational and family-friendly programming in nearby Battle Creek, MI, for the next four years.

Linda E. Rappaport was elected chair of The New School board of trustees. Rappaport had served as a trustee of the university for a decade and has been involved with The New School since 2004 when she joined the university’s Mannes School of Music Board of Governors.

Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Waichungo held product and consumer research roles at ConAgra Foods and Campbell Soup Company.

Community Health Charities welcomed Wamwari Waichungo, vice president of global scientific and regulatory affairs for The Coca-Cola Company, to the national board.

REFORM Alliance added Bob Pilon as the organization’s president and chief growth officer.

CARE of Southeastern Michigan hired Rosemarie Paczkowski as chief financial officer and Erika Jones as chief development officer.

America’s Warrior Partnership added three new members to its board of directors: Thomas Bowman, former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs; Clint Romesha, veteran of the U.S. Army; and John G. Vonglis, former Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Amy Fuller, Accenture’s chief marketing & communications officer, has joined Junior Achievement USA‘s board of directors.

Global Impact and Geneva Global have joined forces to create one organization. Geneva Global will operate as a business unit under Global Impact. The merger broadens the reach of both organizations in terms of geographies and audiences served.
